One-Step Questions for Saturday, 28 May

1. I have physically practiced Taeguek Il, Sam and Oh Jang plus Palchugi Ee, Sah and Yuk Jang 3 times and mentally reviewed them (writing them down, speaking out loud and/or reviewing in your head) 3 times over the past week.  If you are having trouble with one or more of these forms - practice them until they are memorized.

***NOTE: You must do Question #1 to continue down the floor! It is critical we get the memorization of forms done early so we can work on technique!*** 


2. I have Taeguek Il, Sam and Oh Jang checked off. (These three forms were due 21 May)

3.  I have Palchugi Ee Jang checked off.


4. I have video taped myself doing the form I am working on for check off and have reviewed the tape for technique.

5. I have done 35 Perfect Pushups and 15 Tricep Pushups 3 times in the past week.

6. I have done 125 round kicks on the bags 3 times in the past week.

7. I have done 25 crunches 5 ways (25x5=125 total crunches each session) 3 times this week

8. I have done 2 training runs in the past week.

9. I have practiced my board break combinations. (Due June 11th)

10. I have a 10 move combination with my weapon written down in my binder. (Due July 16th.)

11.  I have one hour of teaching/class assistance logged or have made arrangements to begin doing this with Instructor Dan or Instructor Marcia.

One-Step Questions for Saturday, 28 May

1. I have physically practiced Taeguek Il, Sam and Oh Jang plus Palchugi Ee, Sah and Yuk Jang THREE times and mentally reviewed them (writing them down, speaking out loud or reviewing in your head) THREE times over the past week.

2. I have Taeguek Il, Sam and Oh Jang checked off. (These three forms were due 21 May)

3.  I have Palchugi Ee checked off.

4.  I have printed off, reviewed and put in my binder the "What every Palchugi Form Needs for Check Off" and "What every Taeguek Form Needs for Check Off" found under the "How to get forms checked off" tab at the top of this page.

5. I have video taped myself doing the form I am working on for check off plus Palchugi Ee, Sah and Yuk and reviewed them for technique.

6. I have done 30 Perfect Pushups and 12 Tricep Pushups 3 times in the past week.

7. I have done 65 round kicks on the bags 3 times in the past week.

8. I have done 100 regular crunches and 25 abdominal exercises of my choice - 3 times in the past week.

9. I have done 2 training runs in the past week.

10.  I have practiced my board break combinations. (Due June 11th)

11. I have attended or put on my calendar to attend one sparring class in the month of May. (You need to average 2 sparring classes per month to reach the 12 sparring classes requirement for Black Belt).

12. I have a 5 move combination with my weapon written down in my binder. (Due July 16th.)

One-Step Questions for Saturday, 21 May

1. I have physically practiced Taeguek Il, Sam and Oh Jang plus Palchugi Ee, Sah and Yuk Jang six times and mentally reviewed them (writing them down, speaking out loud or reviewing in your head) six times over the past 2 weeks.

***NOTE: You must do Question #1 to continue down the floor!  It is critical we get the memorization of forms done early so we can work on technique!***  

2. I have Taeguek Il Jang checked off.


3.  I have Taeguek Sam Jang checked off.

4.  I have Taeguek Oh Jang checked off. (These three forms are all due today, 21 May)

5. I have video taped myself doing Taeguek Il, Sam and Oh Jang plus any other forms I am working on for check off and watched it for form and technique.  Use the "How to Get a Form Checked Off" check list from the tab above to make sure your technique is spot on.

6. I have done 25 Perfect Pushups and 10 Tricep Pushups 6 times in the past 2 weeks.

7. I have done 60 round kicks on the bags 6 times in the past 2 weeks.

8. I have done 20 crunches 5 ways (see tab at the top of the blog for what crunches 5 ways are - 20x5=100 total crunches) 6 times in the past 2 weeks.

9.  I have done 4 training runs in the past 2 weeks.


10.  I have my board break combinations written down in my binder.  I have video taped them and asked a black belt to review for feedback on technique - look at tempo, variation in height, intensity, adding kihaps, special techniques, etc.  You have enough time to polish these and make them outstanding for demo on June 11th. (Due June 11th)

11.  I have attended or put on my calendar to attend one sparring class in the month of May. (You need to average 2 sparring classes per month to reach the 12 sparring classes requirement for Black Belt).

12.  I have begun doing research for special techniques with my weapon.  See tab above for information on how to get started with your weapons form.  There are many great videos online with how-to or competition videos with great ideas you can adapt for your weapons form.  (Due July 16th.)
